1977-1984: Feasting

The audio vignettes that are part of this section were recorded by Sim’oogit Gyologyet (hereditary chief Gyologyet) in the 1980s. They expand on elements of Gitxsan governance including invitations to a feast, respectful behavior at feasts and contribution of money at a feast.

Ownership of specific dances and songs are held by a Wilp Money and goods collected at the feast are redistributed to guests for witnessing the business There are protocols governing how Clan and House members contribute at a feast
